everythingoffendsme: It’s pure male privilege. They use the allusion to the ocean and the shore to make this seem romantic and sweet, but it’s obviously all about RAPE CULTURE. Only in a RAPE CULTURE would someone find it acceptable for a male (the ocean) to refuse to stop raping (kissing) the shore (womyn) even though the shore (womyn) sends the ocean (man) away. The perpetuation of this sort of “romantic imagery” is incredibly harmful and sexist.
